Mike Zurkewicz is an unrepentant criminal, the de facto up and coming leader of a group of ruthless thugs who pride themselves in protecting their community. His only real attachment left in life is with his wife Shelby and brother, Frank. Frank is an exemplary priest and for years has worked in parishes across the country but has longed to get back home to be with Mike. Frank now has that chance, but there’s a catch. He has been tasked with keeping his local parish, Saint Mary’s, operating in the wake of several other church closings, and consolidations. Over time Frank meets and surprisingly exceeds the financial goals imposed from the Diocese. These unusual accomplishments peak the attention of the Diocese and they send Monsignor Trovato to the parish to investigate. After a routine visit, Monsignor Torvato goes to get a coffee. As he reviews the parish ledgers he finds himself in the midst of a shakedown and is mistakenly taken hostage at gunpoint by one of Mike’s henchmen. With Monsignor Trovato blindfolded, beaten and bound to a chair Mike calls for Father Frank. Frank eventually convinces Mike and his crew to let Monsignor go, but Monsignor is now paranoid that thugs want to kill him. In addition to uncovering the questionable dealings at St Mary’s and the expulsion of Father Frank, Monsignor also wants to repay and bless the person who saved him. Is redemption possible? As relationships strain, mistrust and greed threatens to take everyone down a dangerous and potentially lucrative but deadly path. God help us all. . .
